How It's Made: Ginny Macdonald Furniture
There is a lot to consider when designing furniture. From how deep the seat of a sofa should be to choosing what fabrics will be both beautiful and durable, well-designed furniture means that every detail was thought of. The Ginny Macdonald Furniture Collection took a year to perfect. Ginny drew each piece in the collection by hand, felt each of the fabrics and carefully selected colors, chose the wood finish, and checked in on the pieces being made see what needed to be adjusted. All of the pieces in Ginny’s line are made by skilled craftspeople in Los Angeles. From the custom frames to the finishing upholstery details, each step of the process is done by hand. See below for a closer look at the process.

"I'm so excited to share Ginny's furniture line! Ginny has worked with me on designing my home and there were a few custom pieces she created for space. After the pieces were made, we knew we had to put them on Lulu and Georgia. Ginny added more frames and chose such a beautiful color palette. The pieces are so gorgeous in person, I'm looking forward to seeing them in our customers' homes!"

I designed these pieces… everyone. I kept the collection simple so that the pieces could fit into any style of the house yet still have a timeless look. They’re simple pieces so that the color and fabrics could shine without feeling too ornate or sway into one particular style. As there’s a variety of sizes I can see these being incorporated into a loft in NYC or beach house in California.
