In our Moodboard Series, I'm sharing the things that are currently inspiring me. This month, I’m all about texture. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with the concept of temporal texture-the idea that time and its passing gives objects a patina all their own, and that the mixing of items from different eras contributes to that tonality. This adds another, deeper layer to the usual suspects of thick wool, tarnished metal, warm woods and feathery florals. I see this ethereal texture take shape in a vintage work of art hung next to a modern lamp or in a piece of preserved lemon in a fresh cocktail; it’s all around us if we just take the time to look.

Last season’s cashmere sweater, just-slept-in linen bedding, freshly made coffee and an antique hutch; the juxtaposition of these objects together weaves such a beautiful tapestry of texture.
