The Ginny Macdonald Furniture Collection wonderfully blends the interior designer's British roots and design sense with her California lifestyle. In fact, each piece in the line is named after a lake in the United Kingdom that holds significance to Ginny's upbringing. Ginny initially drew every style by hand before working with our team to bring the pieces to life. The interior designer also elected the highest-quality materials, including oak wood frames and luxury fabrics. With their high-quality craftsmanship, these pieces are designed to stand the test of time. Inspired by Ginny's English heritage, each piece is handmade at our upholstery workshop in Los Angeles. Join us as we revisit Ginny's tour of the facility a few years back. It's an eye-opening look into the labor-intensive process behind how each piece of her exclusive furniture collection is made to order for you. See below for a look back at how one of our favorite furniture collections was made.
There is a lot to consider when designing furniture. From how deep the seat of a sofa should be to choosing what fabrics will be both beautiful and durable, well-designed furniture means that every detail was thought of. The Ginny Macdonald Furniture Collection took over a year to perfect. Ginny drew each piece in the collection by hand, felt each of the fabrics and carefully selected colors, chose the wood finish, and checked in on the pieces being made to see what needed to be adjusted. All of the pieces in Ginny's line are made by skilled craftspeople in Los Angeles. Each step is done by hand, from the custom frames to the finishing upholstery details.
