Kelley here, Lulu and Georgia’s resident Stylist and I’m back with another Styling Series. We recently introduced some new prints and patterns to our Rylee + Cru wallpaper collection, and I’m walking you through some of my favorite looks from the series.

Rylee + Cru is a bestselling children’s clothing brand that merges artful, whimsical illustrations with beautiful, muted tones. Our collaboration is expanding, adding four new botanical- and folklore-inspired designs by illustrator and founder Kelli Murray. These wallpapers are sweet enough for children’s rooms and nurseries, yet grown up enough to place in a powder bath or kitchen nook. Read on for a bit of inspiration from my wallpaper styling guide.

A blue floral wallpaper sets a sophisticated tone for this nursery, with a white crib, neutral striped rug and toys spread on the rug.

Blue Floral

The Blue Floral wallpaper is the perfect gender-neutral look for a nursery. The deep blue tones in the palette keep the floral pattern from looking too overall saccharine or sweet, and they allow the beautiful botanical print to shine. We kept the accents neutral yet still textural to give some depth to the space. Natural wood window coverings, a soft wool rug, and crisp white furniture pieces round out the look.

The floral Dainty Leaves wallpaper from Rylee + Cru is on display in this bathroom with a black vanity with marble top and black framed mirror.

Dainty Leaves

One of our most versatile prints, the Dainty Leaves pattern looks just as at home in a powder bath as in a kid’s room. I love how the motif is just small enough to give a bit of dimension and texture to the walls, yet still large and intricate enough to show off the blossoming buds. Here, blackened metal and wood accents give it a bit of an edge, but for a softer look, go for gold fixtures or light wood pieces.

The neutral botanical Garden Birds wallpaper from Rylee + Cru anchors this kids' room with a twin bed covered in white and gold bedding and built-in cabinets with cane fronts and open shelving holding toys and books.

Garden Bird

One of my favorites from the collection, the soft gold palette of our Garden Birds design acts almost as a neutral. Here, we used it in a child’s room accented with tones of yellow and cream. When working with such a lively print, make sure to keep the rest of the room simple, so as not to compete with the main pattern. We chose a solid, neutral rug and elements of crisp white to pop against the background. A soft, wooly throw and a striped pillow give texture finishes off the look.

The rustic Through the Woods black and white wallpaper from Rylee + Cru is a backdrop to a whitewashed wood dresser with a changing pad on top in this nursery.

Through the Woods

This rustic pattern is adorable in a kid’s room or nursery. The grayscale palette lends itself as the perfect backdrop for any color story, though I think looks particularly nice paired with an easy range of browns, creams, and white. To keep the room from feeling overall too juvenile, I love the look of pairing a kid-friendly pattern with more grown-up pieces. It provides such a nice contrast, and the pieces in the room can grow with the child as they get older.

Our founder, Sara, has always loved the imaginative, minimalist designs of Rylee + Cru apparel, a staple in her own children’s closets. Adapted from previously released designs by Rylee + Cru founder, Kelli Murray, they are inspired by the simplicity of nature: Birds taking flight, woodland animals, cottage gardens and the wild blooms of the tropics. Meant to stir creativity and curiosity, they also add soft beauty to a child’s room.
