A desk chair gets used every day — which makes it one of the more consequential purchases in a home office. At Lulu and Georgia, the desk chair collection spans upholstered swivel chairs, linen and velvet task chairs, sculptural office chairs that read as accent seating in any room, and more traditional ergonomic-adjacent styles that don’t sacrifice design for function. Each chosen to hold up to daily use while looking like a piece of furniture that belongs in the room rather than something shipped in from a big-box office aisle.
What desk chair styles does Lulu and Georgia carry?
The collection includes upholstered swivel chairs in linen, velvet, and performance fabrics, task chairs with adjustable height, sculptural and accent-chair-adjacent styles that work equally well at a desk or in a living room, and leather and faux-leather options. Many styles feature adjustable seat height for compatibility with standard desk heights. Armless and with-arm options are available in most categories.
What is the right desk chair height for my desk?
Most desks sit between 28 and 30 inches tall. A desk chair should allow your feet to rest flat on the floor with knees at roughly 90 degrees — for most people this means a seat height of 17–21 inches. When seated, your elbows should rest comfortably at or just above desk level. Adjustable-height chairs provide the most flexibility; seat height ranges are noted on each product page.
Can a desk chair double as an accent chair in a living room?
Several styles in the collection are designed to work in both contexts — a well-proportioned upholstered swivel chair looks equally right at a desk or pulled into a reading corner or living room grouping. If dual-use is a priority, look for styles without aggressive lumbar inserts or mesh backs, and choose upholstery that coordinates with the room’s existing palette. Many of the most popular desk chairs in the collection are indistinguishable from accent seating.
