SIN Ceramics is a London-based studio making handmade ceramic tableware with a point of view: forms that are quietly imperfect, glazes that range from matte stone to high-gloss, and a sensibility that values the handmade mark over the machine-finished smooth. At Lulu and Georgia, the SIN Ceramics collection spans plates, bowls, mugs, and tableware pieces in limited production runs — each piece a genuinely hand-finished object with the minor variations that are the point, not the problem.
What does SIN Ceramics make?
The SIN Ceramics collection includes dinner plates, salad and side plates, bowls in various sizes, mugs and cups, pitchers and serving pieces, and occasional decorative objects. Most pieces are produced in small batches with limited availability. Glazes vary by collection and season — matte and textural, high-gloss and reactive, and natural stoneware and terracotta bodies are all represented across the archive.
How do I care for handmade ceramic tableware?
Most SIN Ceramics pieces are dishwasher-safe on the top rack, but hand-washing prolongs the life of the glaze and the piece. Avoid stacking heavy items on top of handmade ceramics, which are slightly more susceptible to chipping at the rim than machine-pressed tableware. Matte glazes are generally more forgiving of scratching from cutlery; high-gloss glazes show metal marks more readily (these clean off with a mild abrasive like Bar Keepers Friend). Microwaveable unless metallic glaze is present.
Is SIN Ceramics sold in sets or open stock?
Most SIN Ceramics pieces at Lulu and Georgia are sold individually or in small sets of two or four, rather than as formal full dinnerware sets. This is consistent with the studio's production model and makes it easy to build a mixed collection of complementary pieces across glazes and forms. Pieces produced in limited runs may not be available for restocking — buy in the quantities you need rather than planning to add more later.
