Vases

A vase is most revealing when it's empty. The silhouette, the material, the way it catches light — a well-chosen vase holds a shelf or surface with confidence before a single stem is added. At Lulu and Georgia, the vase collection spans ceramic and stoneware forms, hand-blown glass, sculptural and abstract shapes, bud vases and large-format floor vases, and artisan-made pieces from ceramic artists and independent makers. Each chosen to function as an object of craft in its own right.

What vase styles does Lulu and Georgia carry?

The collection includes tall statement vases and floor vases, medium-format single-stem and small bouquet styles, bud vases for tight groupings, and sculptural pieces that function as decorative objects with or without florals. Materials span ceramic, stoneware, earthenware, hand-blown glass, terracotta, and mixed constructions. Glazes range from matte and reactive earthy tones to glossy and geometric finishes. Many pieces are available from artists in limited quantities.

How do I style a vase grouping on a shelf or table?

Group an odd number of vases — three or five — in varying heights, keeping materials related but not identical. A tall ceramic vase paired with a mid-height bud vase and a low, wide earthenware form creates visual rhythm without uniformity. Vary whether vases hold stems or remain empty — not every vase in a grouping needs to be in use. Leave negative space between pieces; a shelf that appears slightly underfilled reads as more intentional than one that's fully packed.

What flowers or branches work best with tall floor vases?

For tall floor vases, branches — eucalyptus, olive, dried grasses, or sculptural dried botanicals — are a practical and long-lasting choice. They fill the vertical space naturally and require minimal maintenance. Fresh flowers in a tall vase work best with long-stemmed varieties: branches of forsythia or cherry blossom, large-headed dahlias or sunflowers, or simple bunches of eucalyptus. Change the water every two to three days for fresh arrangements.
