Picture Frames

The frame is not a neutral container — it participates in the image it holds, contributes to the visual weight of a wall, and determines whether a print reads as a considered design choice or an afterthought. At Lulu and Georgia, the picture frames collection brings together gallery wall frames in standard print sizes, large-format frames for statement art, and decorative frames in wood, metal, and lacquer finishes — each chosen for the quality of the material and the way the frame sits in a room rather than just on the wall.

What picture frames does Lulu and Georgia carry?

The collection includes thin-profile gallery frames in natural wood and matte black for gallery wall installations, substantial frames with wide mats for single-image display, large-format frames in 24×36 and larger sizes, antique and ornate frames in gold and distressed finishes, and floating frames for canvas and board-mounted artwork. Most frames are available in standard print sizes (5×7, 8×10, 11×14, 16×20, 18×24, 24×36); custom and non-standard sizes are noted on each product page.

How do I build a gallery wall with picture frames?

Start with the largest or most important frame and work outward — it anchors the arrangement. Lay the arrangement out on the floor before committing to wall holes; photograph the layout to reference while hanging. For a cohesive gallery wall, use frames in a consistent finish (all natural wood, all black, or intentionally mixed metals) and vary size rather than finish. Leave 2-3 inches of space between frames — tighter groupings read as a single unit; wider spacing reads as a collection of individual pieces. Hang the first frame at eye level (approximately 57-60 inches to the center), then build around it.

What frame finish works in most rooms?

Natural wood frames in light oak and walnut tones are the most versatile — they read as warm and considered without imposing a strong style direction, work in both contemporary and traditional rooms, and age gracefully. Matte black frames are the contemporary standard for gallery walls — they provide clean visual contrast without the formality of a gilt frame. Antique gold and ornate frames are best in rooms with traditional or maximalist sensibilities, where the frame's decorative presence contributes to the room's overall aesthetic.
